A woman was left to pay Euro 2000 medical bill post she was attacked by sea lion during her trip through Western Australia.
Elena Precillia, a 25-year old woman was winning with sea lions at the Seal’s Rocks located in Geraldton when this incident happened.
Out of nowhere, one of the sea lions lunged and attacked her leg. She experienced severe puncture wounds which was treated with 20 stitches.
Elena is a French pastry chef, and she decided to explore the ocean with her buddy Mauro Signoretti. The locals in the region told that the sea lions here are quite friendly.
She revealed that locals said that the sea lions are quite amicable and often tourists went to the water without any guide. It was a good experience as the creatures danced and played with the swimmer.
However, on the third day when Elena return for the third swim with the animals, she was attacked by one of the sea lions.
She ended up needing a minor operation and antibiotics course to ensure that the infection from the sea lion doesn’t affect her.
The swimmer explained that it was a quick moment where she saw the sea lions, and as soon as she turned her back, it bit her.
The bite was on the right leg on the back, and she could see the sea lion had bitten deep enough to draw blood.
The pain had put the woman in shock, and she could not feel anything, and she could not even swim out of the water. It was a terrifying experience as there were 4 or 5 sea lions around them.
After the incident, Elena’s friend Mauro quickly got her back to the shore, and they headed to the nearest hospital.
