There is a craze of unique wedding cake everywhere.
We have seen so many beautiful cakes at a wedding, birthday parties or any other events. But, you are very lucky if you visit a wedding exhibition in Dubai and had a chance to taste a “bride” that costs $1 million. This is the most expensive cake ever. Debbie Wingham, the creator of this wedding cake, is known as the world’s most expensive designer because she creates $50 million masterpieces.
Celebrity cake artist Debbie Wingham, launched the world’s most expensive edible shoes at Raffles Dubai, now made the million-dollar wedding cake, which has been modeled on a traditional Arabic bride.
The six-foot-tall cake is encrusted with five two-carat white diamonds priced at $200,000 each (Dhs,734,600). It’s sculpted from rice crispy treats and modeling chocolate and boasts an additional 20kg of Belgium chocolate, 1,000 eggs, 5,000 hand-crafted flowers with polished edible pearls and 50kg of cake fondant.
“Diamonds have become the material of choice and I’m constantly looking at featuring them in a more inventive way,” says designer and baker Debbie Wingham.
“Since I launched the red diamond Abaya a few years ago at Raffles Dubai, I have been a big fan of the Arabian culture and wanted to incorporate it in the design of the wedding cake.
Raffles pastry chefs have always been extremely creative with their afternoon tea collection, that it was a natural synergy for us to work together on this project, a marriage made in heaven.”
The cake was the biggest hit at the wedding, which is believed to have been crafted as a life-size bride. The cake was the center of attraction at the event and all the guests couldn’t hold their breath at the sight of it! Wow, what a beautiful cake it is, and how much of hard-work she put into it.
