Netflix itself has already confirmed an April 12 premiere for an extra episode from Tiger King: Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness.
The mysterious new episode will present never-before-seen interviews featuring Joshua Dial, John Reinke, Saff, John Finlay, Erik Cowie, Rick Kirkman, and Jeff and Lauren Lowe.
Joel McHale will be hosting the episode, said the streaming service, and is titled “The Tiger King and I.”
It’s definitely one piece of news that Tiger King fans have been waiting for. A comment from current G.W. Zoo owner Jeff Lowe clued fans in that an extra episode might be in the offing.
In a video, Jeff announced that another installment may be on the way and Justin Turner, a baseball player for the Los Angeles Dodgers, tweeted that news soon after.
Jeff and Justin got to know each other during the podcast of Justin’s wife Kourtney Turner. The baseball star spoke about the hit docuseries during that podcast.
In the video, Jeff says: “Hey Kourtney and Justin, this is Jeff and Lauren from the Tiger King show on Netflix. Thanks for watching our show.
“Netflix is adding one more episode. It will be on next week. We’re filming here tomorrow.”
At the end of the video, Lowe dispenses some health advice amid the coronavirus outbreak, advising the Turners: “Stay safe, and put your mask on.”
You’re seriously missing out if you haven’t seen Tiger King yet. The docuseries tells the story of Joseph Maldonado-Passage, aka ‘Joe Exotic,’ who owned a roadside zoo in Oklahoma. He’s currently in jail with a 22-year sentence for trying to have his rival, animal rights activist Carole Baskin, killed.
Unfortunately for him, the person he paid to perform the murder was actually an undercover FBI agent.
But the story doesn’t end there. In fact, that’s where the pace drastically picks up.
After Joe was arrested, his business partner Jeff Lowe took over the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park.
Joe has since sued the US government for $94 million since his incarceration in April last year.
Florida law enforcement officers have also started looking into the disappearance of Jack “Don” Lewis in 1997 following the show’s release. Lewis is Baskin’s second husband.
Baskin had been repeatedly been accused by Joe Exotic of “feeding [Lewis] to the tigers,” though she had never been a suspect or even a person of interest and had always denied involvement.
