A furious father has shared how he banned his parents from babysitting his 9-month-old baby girl, saying they ‘permanently damaged her body’.
Taking to Reddit, the unnamed dad explained that he and his partner have a daughter named Thalia.
When they decided that it was up to their daughter when she’s older if she wants to get her ears pierced or not, their families agreed.
“I was never into the idea of it being done as a baby when they can’t consent, my fiancée’s parents pierced her ears when she was a baby and she always hated wearing earrings. Still doesn’t wear any,” he went on.
But his parents went behind their back and had the child’s ears pierced.
“When they babysat for us once they got one of my mom’s friends to do it and we were f***ing pissed they went behind our backs.”
He said they stopped talking to his parents after what they did despite others saying they couldn’t just cut them out of Thalia’s life because of that.
The couple then allowed his parents to see their grandchild only when they were around.
“That’s where everyone is still saying we’re being massive a**holes because we’re still punishing them over something that’s not a big deal and we’re treating them like children,” he went on.
