A Family Booked A Pride Flight By Accident, And Had The Best Time Of Their Lives


A family of four had the best time of their lives after accidentally booking tickets on a sold-out Pride flight to New York.

Kerry Powell, her husband Sean and their sons Calum, four, and Cody, one, joined in on the fun and dozens of drag queens performed singalongs as the LGBT+ crew served refreshments on the journey from London to New York.

Queer publication Attitude Magazine shared a clip and wrote: “This unsuspecting family accidentally booked on to the Virgin Atlantic Pride Flight for their holiday – and they absolutely COMMITTED to the madness.”

Kerry told the Daily Mail: “We booked the flight in September 2018. Virgin then phones us in October to inform us it had been chosen to be the Pride Flight.”

“They asked if we wanted to change flight which meant travelling on a different day which we couldn’t do, so we went ahead as planned.”

Tickets of Pride Flight sold out within 24 hours and there were among 284 people on board the flight – named VS69 in honor of the 1969 Stonewall Riots, which sparked the modern gay rights movement.

Drag queen DJ Jodie Harsh performed a set on board the aircraft and travelers were treated to rainbow eclairs made especially for the occasion.

Kerry added: ”It was brilliant, the kids enjoyed it, and the eight hours flew by.”

”The goodie bags were amazing and the celebrities chatted with us and took photos. Overall fantastic time!”
