A grieving daughter revealed how her younger brother broke down into tears after receiving his birthday gift a month after his mother had passed away.
12-year-old Brennan Mansell from Sheffield, England, was left absolutely devastated when his mother, Lisa, died just a month before his birthday.
That’s when the boy’s family decided to surprise Brennan with a very unique birthday gift – a talking teddy bear with an audio recording of his late mom.
On the day of his 12th birthday, the young boy’s big sister, Bailey-Mae, told Brennan to open the gift box with the bear inside while taking a video of him.
Once the teddy was out of the box, the boy pressed its paw and his late mom’s voice recording began playing.
“Hello darling, love you lots, giving you a kiss. Love, love, love love you,” the recording said.
Seconds after hearing the tear-jerking message, Brennan broke into tears and stormed out of the view.
The family has since decided to share the emotional video on TikTok where it racked up hundreds of thousands of likes and reactions.
“We’ve struggled a lot since mum passed away. We feel completely lost without our queen,” Bailey-Mae, 20, said.
“She was the light of all our lives and was there for us through everything. We’ve all cried buckets and buckets since she passed and it feels like our whole world has broken.”
Speaking of the unique gift, the 20-year-old added: “My oldest sister Briony had a Build-a-Bear made with a voice message mum had sent to her a few months prior.
“We then gave him this for his birthday and he completely broke down in tears from hearing our late mum’s voice again.”
As the big sister explained, Brennan eventually asked her to post the video of his reaction on the internet so that his friends and relatives could hear the beloved mom’s voice again.
