A couple who reportedly postponed their wedding for nearly 11 years tied the knot just three days before the bride passed away tragically from cancer.
Ben and Jen Cooper got engaged in the year 2010 but they kept on postponing their wedding for one reason or the other.
But the couple opted to finally tie the knot in Telford, Shropshire, at the Severn Hospice, as confirmed by local media outlets. Unfortunately, the bride was suffering from cancer, and she passed away just three days later.
“We kept on postponing the wedding due to work, family losses, and then we had three children together too,” explained Ben.
Just last year, the mother of 5 celebrated being cancer-free, after going through breast cancer treatment for nearly five years.
However, months later and right before the lockdown, the math teacher was diagnosed by her doctors with cancer again, and that’s when she discovered a new lump under her armpit.
For this reason, Jen had to muster strength again and start a new battle with the disease but she died peacefully on the 20th of November with the love of her life by her side.
The couple held hands tightly, as she wished him one last good night, and then passed away in his arms.
Sources claim that the couple brought their wedding day forward, which was planned for November 27th, as Jen’s health started to worsen. He wanted to see her happy and in good spirits on the wedding day so she could enjoy it to the fullest.
“We played Bon Jovi for her, got her into her dress, and even had some bubbly,” her husband explained. The nurses even hung Jen’s dress up in her hospital room so she could look at it.
Even the kids were super excited for their parents’ big day but who knew that just three days later, their mother would be no more.
