Picking a name for your baby can be both exciting and nerve-wracking at the same time as you want to make sure that it will not cause any harm in the future.

But one mother was left questioning her decision to give her child a ‘unique’ moniker after she named her son after a designer brand.

Taking to TikTok, mom Misty has hit back at critics who said that the name she picked is ‘more suitable for a pet’ than for a human.

In her video, Misty has revealed that she named her son Kartiyr Kior – after French conglomerate Cartier which is known for its watches and jewelry.

Slamming those who left negative remarks about her baby’s name, the mom said: “Is y’all dumb, or like is y’all dumb? My son’s first name is Kartiyr and his middle name is Kior. Kartiyr Kior.”

But her statement has prompted more people to share their thoughts, with one person saying: “These are people, not pets.”

Another said: “Y’all be naming these babies like they don’t have to grow up.”

Someone else added: “At least pronounce Cartier right.”

A third added: “Are you naming clothing brands you like or human beings?”

But others defended the mother and said that she has the right to name her baby anything she wanted. “Leave her alone. It’s her baby, not yours,” one person wrote.

“Child, do you. if you’re happy with it, you do you,” another commented. “My son’s name is also Cartier and I’m so sick of people asking why I named him that,” a third added.

“So cute. Love that name,” someone else said.
