A mother has shared the hilarious moment she rushed her daughter to a hospital after her head got stuck in a toilet seat.
Amy Sanderson said that her 3-year-old was potty training and went to the bathroom while she was making dinner at their home.
When she saw the seat around her daughter’s neck, she thought that it would easily slip off. But when she couldn’t remove it, they had to go to Derriford Hospital where doctors took more than an hour to get rid of the toilet seat.
“My initial reaction when I saw her with the toilet seat on her head was ‘that’s alright I will get it back off,’ Amy said. “But after assessing it, I realized whatever way I put it, it was not coming off.”
She said that she tried to remove the toilet seat but it was catching on her chin and ears.
The mother saw the hilarious side of the incident as she carried her daughter from the car park to the hospital with the pink toilet seat stuck around her neck.
“It was raining and the toilet seat was upside down and the rain was catching so I had to keep tipping her to the side to drain the water out,” she said.
“When I got to the front desk, I thought ‘I hope you’re not going to ask me why I’m here because I’m holding a child with a toilet seat on her head.”
Amy said that it took three medics to remove the seat around her daughter’s head. Once the seat was removed, Ivy was ‘absolutely fine.’
“Ivy never has a dull moment, she does so much stuff that gets us all laughing – she’s so funny, strong-willed, and such a character,” she added.
