We all know how annoying it can be when you walk into a restaurant and told to sit at a table with hard chairs when are is a soft and comfortable booth nearby.
That’s how one family felt when they went to a Texas Roadhouse restaurant and they were confused as to why they were denied an empty booth.
When they took a closer look, they noticed a sign at the edge of the table. They realized that it was saved for a group of VIPs, and they considered themselves lucky to be able to sit close to them.
The comfortable booth’s table was set up as if it were expecting important people to arrive. Both the Texas state flag and American Flag were adorning the wall in the background. A beautiful white tablecloth was also covering the tabletop gracefully.
The table was meant for five people, and a special sign was placed indicating who the place was meant for.
That was when they realized that the party of five was not going to walk in the door anytime soon. Because the group of special souls would never be able to dig into a loaded baked potato or juicy ribeye steak, ever again.
The table had been reserved for five slain police officers who were killed by multiple snipers on Dallas. The Texas restaurant set it up as a memorial for the brave souls who offered their own lives to protect the people.
Restaurants make money when every table is filled to capacity, but this restaurant truly honors the fallen officers by reserving a sacred place for them.
The sign on the table read:
“We remember and honor the five slain police officers, Sergeant Michael J. Smith, Officer Michael Krol, Officer Patrick Zamarripa, Senior Corporal Lorne Ahrens, and Mr. Brent Thompson, who worked for the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Police Department, that the Texas Roadhouse restaurant reserved a table for. We thank you for your service. May you rest in peace.”
