An anonymous bride is putting forward her thoughts on a public online platform regarding how she opted to disinvite her stepfather from her wedding, despite the fact that he paid for the entire event.

The woman took to Reddit to pen down her thoughts on the matter that’s been causing her stress for quite some time. And now, she wants to know whether or not she made the right decision because the guilt appears to be eating her up.

“I chose to uninvite him because of my brothers. He paid for the event and now I feel like I may have made the wrong decision,” she went on to explain.

The woman chose to keep her name a secret but did mention how she was 25 years in age and has had a rough time with her brothers who are older than her.

“Our parents got divorced when we were young, and then my mother met my stepdad and chose to move on with her life,” the young woman began to explain.

“The boys never had a good relationship with him and that’s why I have so torn apart on whether or not I should invite my stepdad to the event or not,” she stated.

Since her brother really resented their stepfather, the young bride thought to play it safe and keep her stepdad out of the wedding as a whole. This way, there would be less drama, or she assumed.

“They cut ties with my stepdad but I fostered my relationship with him,” she mentioned. And as days went by, the bond between the two got stronger and that’s why this decision was super hard on her.

“He helped with schooling me and even offered to fund my event,” she stated. But knowing that her stepdad might attend, her brothers warned her ahead of time that they might not show up. And that’s exactly why she uninvited him in the end.
