Only two months ago, a 2-year-old German Shepard named Haus was rescued by the DeLuca family of Tampa, Florida. What they didn’t know was that Haus would be rescuing their 7-year-old daughter.

It was a beautiful day and Molly and Haus were happily playing outside in the yard. Her grandmother then saw the 68-pound dog jumping around and snapping his teeth. She rushed outside and realized that a snake was attacking the pair. This wasn’t just any snake — it was an eastern diamondback rattlesnake, infamous for being the most venomous snake in all of North America.
Terrified as she witnessed the events unfold, Molly’s grandmother watched Haus heroically protect Molly. The 2-year-old dog stood his ground against the snake. Haus had risked his life to save Molly, suffering several snake bites as he protected the seven-year-old.
