A grandma from Texas got the last laugh when she had some cards distributed to loved ones telling them to ‘stay in touch’.
Jo Marie Perryman died at the age of 81 on October 12 but she didn’t let her passing take her sense of humor away.
During her funeral, the elderly woman arranged to have cards distributed to her loved ones to remind them that she’s just around – one call away using a small Ouija board.
The card features a photo of the grandmother with her tongue sticking out and two middle fingers up. Next to it, there’s a message that read ‘let’s keep in touch’ and below it is a picture of a small Ouija board.
Jo’s granddaughter, Gracie Perryman, shared a photo of the card on Twitter and received more than 600,000 likes.
Over 60,000 people have retweeted the post as the grandmother’s idea was loved by thousands of people applauding her great sense of humor.
One person commented: “This is amazing… I am going to do this when I die in honor of your badass grandma! May she rest in peace.”
Another wrote: “I am so sorry for your loss. However, this is the stuff of LEGENDS! And now, you have it to look at whenever you feel down.”
Others also shared their loved one’s humor and hope, with one saying: “The last time I got to talk to my best friend, before ovarian cancer took her, I asked her to send me a postcard from her next adventure.
I get little signs every once and awhile.
It’s a nice thing so this just make the messaging easier. Brilliant. ”One woman shared a photo of her father’s funeral card placed under a pair of costume glasses that featured a fake mustache.
“Received these at my dads,” she wrote.
