A family in Rugby, Warwickshire have been left homeless after their house collapsed because of building work being carried out next door.
The family of five were not at home at the time but due to the building work being carried out next door, two bedrooms and a kitchen collapsed.

Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service and Warwickshire Police arrived at Claremont Road in Rugby, Warwickshire after neighbours informed them.
They have placed the family in a hotel for now but the family says it is a shocking experience and no one is accepting liability.
A family member said: “Our landlord is confused what is covered by his building insurance and the contractor doesn’t want to accept liability.”
The neighbours said when it collapsed it ‘sounded like a bomb going off’ and they got scared.
Rugby Borough Council has launched an investigation into the cause of the collapse and had a site meeting with a structural engineer to assess the property.
A spokesperson for Warwickshire County Council said: “We can confirm that the only road closure currently in place is that of Claremont Road, between the junction of Wells Street and Tom Brown Street.”
“At this time, we are unable to confirm the length of the closure.point 160 | We will, however, be liaising with building control officers until such time the property is deemed safe.point 249 |
In addition to the above, we are also arranging additional Traffic Management including heras fencing to improve the cordon around the collapse.point 123 | ”point 126 | 1
One of the friends of the family said that the children only have their uniforms and school bags with them.
It is a shocking experience for them. Currently, the family of five are living in a hotel.
