A mother was left heartbroken after reading the Christmas wish list of her 8-year-old daughter.
Suzy Boliver took to TikTok and shared her daughter’s request hoping that it would help raise awareness about some of the difficulties many kids experience at school.
“When you get your eight-year-old daughter’s Christmas list. When I say my heart sank,” Boliver wrote over the clip.
Her daughter’s list seemed to be normal at first as it contains things that every young girl would like to have, including colorful pencils, an iPad mini, and Squishmellow toys.
But as the mother read her daughter’s final requests, her heart sank.
The 8-year-old wrote that she would like ‘more friends’ and ‘less bullying.’
“I wasn’t going to post this. But you know what… this is being 8 years old in 2022 and maybe we should be talking about it,” Boliver captioned her video.
Other people were also left in tears after seeing the list, with one person writing: “Mom, your little girl is an angel who no one should bully. Please hug her for as long as you can and tell her she’s amazing.”
Another wrote: “That broke my heart.”
Others also shared their own experiences, with one commenting: “My 9yo wrote this year ‘To be pretty’, I have no words for the sadness.”
Another added: “I still have so much lingering trauma from being bullied as a child. Some teachers joined in. Happened to one of my daughters too! Life is hard.”
Others gave the mother some advice, with one asking if they could give the young girl some gifts.
“You should set up a PO Box so we can send her postcards from friends around the country. I’d send her one from Oregon!” one suggested.
“Any kind of squishmallow in particular she is looking for? I have some give away and would love to send some her way,” another said.
