An angry mother has spoken out and slammed her father-in-law after he refused to change her daughter’s diaper while looking after the child.

As the mom in question revealed in an interview with Kidspot.com.au, her father-in-law agreed to look after her three-month-old baby girl one day when she was busy going to the hospital to see her doctor and undergo some tests.

After a long day, the mother returned to her FIL to pick up her daughter only to be greeted by a foul smell and pee seeping from her baby’s swaddle when she picked up the child.

“It was very obvious that Isabelle had pooed a while ago, bits of it were hard and stuck on to her skin like a second layer. Her nappy was as full as I had ever seen or felt it but the worst part of it all was when I started to wipe her bottom with wet wipes,” the mother said.

“Firstly, Isabelle began to cry which was highly unusual but soon enough I could understand why. Her skin was covered in nappy rash, it was very red and looked extremely painful.”

As the mother added, her FIL went on to defend himself saying he “didn’t think it was appropriate because he was a man, and she was a baby girl, and he didn’t feel comfortable.”

While the man eventually apologized for what had happened, he insisted he wasn’t in the wrong saying he never wants to change his granddaughter’s diaper.

Following the incident, the “furious” and “flabbergasted” mom decided to ban her father-in-law from watching over her daughter in the future.

She has also revealed that the infant’s rash has since already healed.
