A mother has shared hilarious before and after photos of her daughter’s first day of school, and the results are leaving everyone in stitches.
Stacey McCullagh, 40, shared how happy but emotional she was when she waved her four-year-old daughter, Lydia, off on her first day at St. Mark’s Primary School on Wednesday.
But the mom was left laughing out loud when she came home that afternoon and found that her daughter collapsed in front of the door after what seemed to be an exhausting day.
In the adorable photos, little Lyla can be seen wearing her neat uniform with her hair properly styled by her mom before going to school.
But the ‘after’ photo shows the young girl appearing disheveled, her head lying on her sister’s lap and her bag red bag tossed to the side.
“I felt a bit of mixed emotions because Lyla is my youngest and so it’s the last time I’ll get to do the first day of primary school,” Stacey told the Daily Record.
“I was excited for her to go in, though, because she hadn’t stopped talking about it all summer,” the mom continued.
“She kept saying she didn’t want to go to nursery anymore, she was ready for school.
“I think if she had been upset, it would have been different for me.”
Stacey also said that her daughter was telling them that she was ‘so tired’ and when she managed to wake her up to take her into the house, the exhausted student slept again for almost two hours on the couch.
No matter how tiring Lyla’s first day was, she still managed to get up for school the next day. However, she fell and skinned her knee while playing on the playground.
When she returned home, she asked her mom if she could stay home as her knee was sore.
“I told her she couldn’t, but we did put plasters and various band-aids on her knee to make her feel better. The whole thing has given us a good laugh,” Stacey added.
