A mother-of-five has revealed that she can’t afford Christmas this year after being left with only $43-income per week.
It was in April when she became homeless after she and her five children returned from Ireland to Wales.
They are turning to Cony County Council for help and have been staying in temporary accommodation at Rhos on Sea Golf Club, where they will be spending Christmas this year.
Speaking to North Wales Live, the mother-of-five said: “I’m usually the one who loves Christmas playing the songs and so on, but this year I’m just not feeling it. I have put a few decorations up for the children.
“A charity in Llandudno is going to help me with some presents which is a huge relief as I just don’t have any spare money.”
The mother hopes to find a place closer to her dad but she fears that they won’t be able to move soon because she is not considered the highest priority on a housing list.
“The kids and I just try and do the best with what we’ve got, we all help each other and I love them very much,” she expressed.
“We live on bread, milk and lots of pasta and meals like baked beans on toast. The lack of money means I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks.
“When I have one I have to lay down flat and try and control my breathing, and my eldest son tells me everything is going to be alright, and my daughter strokes my legs as I literally can’t move.
“They shouldn’t have to look after me but it’s just the constant worry of not having any money.”
