A mother has shared her heartbreak after she invited 27 kids to her daughter’s birthday party but none of them showed up.
Breanna Strong from Salt Lake City, Utah put great effort to throw a big celebration for her daughter’s third birthday party at KidsTopia Playground – a jungle-themed indoor playground with tunnels, ball pits, and giant slides.
She also ordered a Frozen-themed cake, lots of pizzas, and more goodies as she expected 27 kids to arrive.
But she was left heartbroken for her daughter when none of her classmates showed up for the huge party.
Sharing her devastating ordeal on TikTok, she said: “We invited 27 kids to Avery’s third birthday party. Not a single one of her friends showed up.”
She added: “Money and time wasted. Breaks my momma heart so bad. Literally going to go home and snuggle my babies.”
One video shows Avery sitting by herself and eating pizza. Another shows the mom trying to hold back her tears as she drove her daughter home from the party.
“I wish I was making this up.”
Breanna shared how she had sent out invitations through Facebook. Some families confirmed that they would come but others messaged her last minute to say that they wouldn’t be able to make it anymore.
The mother-of-three said she was sadder about it than her daughter was as Avery still had a good time at the playground and was still too young to comprehend what exactly happened.
“She got everything she wanted. Pizza, Frozen cake, and jungle gym. She didn’t know any different rather than having fun. Just shattered my heart,” Breanna added.
Many viewers flooded the comment section with heartwarming messages for the birthday celebrant, with one person writing: “This is a rule at my house. If we are invited, we’re GOING! We have been the only one that shows up. So sad this happens, I’m so sorry.”
Another said: “This breaks my heart.”
