A mother-of-three has sparked a lengthy debate after she shared her parenting rules which included making her children pay rent at the age of 16.
Fawna, who goes under the username @tru_n8v on TikTok, shared some of the rules she has after another TikToker asked people to share some parenting rules.
“I might lose some followers and probably get some hate but you know, it is what it is,” the mother said.
“In my house, at the age of 13, you’re allowed to cuss, as long as you use it in the proper context and you do not disrespect adults,,” Fawna said.
“You WILL say Ma’am, you WILL say Sir, you WILL be respectful.
“When my kids were little, I would get their breakfast and everything ready in the morning and yes, they would be taken care of they, were f**king fine, happy and healthy… but none of them are allowed to bother me, touch me, nothing until I’ve had my first cup of coffee.”
The mother said that her children follow her rules and they are fine with it.
She continued: “At the age of 16, they’re required to get a job, a driver’s license and they have to start paying rent.”
The money will then be put aside and will be given back to her children once they are ready to move out.
One person commented: “Honestly this is a really good idea and really smart.”
Another wrote: “My Daughter is 14 and we let her cuss as long as she doesn’t do it excessively or disrespectfully to us.”
A third added: “LOVE that you set early morning boundaries. That is such a good idea for your own mental health and space.”
