‘My Neighbor Screamed At My Toddler Son And Called Him A CREEP Just Because He Was Watching Her Mow The Lawn’

Children are always curious about their surroundings so it is not unusual to find your kids staring at things around them especially if they are seeing an activity that they haven’t seen before.

But one mother was left furious after a neighbor screamed at her son just because watched her mow the grass.

The neighbor even called her son a ‘creep’ for staring at her.

Taking to Reddit, the mother explained that she and her son were playing in the front yard and her little one loved to watch his surroundings.

“My son loves watching the world go by, he often watches the older kids play on the street and they always interact and say hi to him,” the mother wrote.

“So he runs to our fence with his little Juice box and sits down in front of the gate so he can watch her (the neighbor) mow the lawn. He wasn’t always watching her, sometimes he’d just start picking the dandelions and throwing them around our yard, but most of the time he’d just sit and watch quietly.”

The unnamed woman said that the 15-year-old neighbor kept looking at her son then going back to work until she suddenly walked over to their fence to scream how it was creepy that the toddler was watching her.

“I got up right away and grabbed my son and apologized and tried to say he was just curious about what she was doing, but she kept screaming at me because she doesn’t like to be watched. I scooped my son up who was crying at this point (what baby wouldn’t cry being yelled at?) and hurried to the backyard so he could play there,” she went on.

“She left while angrily muttering to herself about how I’m a bad mother and my son will soon be a creep. I’m now feeling really bad about letting my son watch her mow the lawn and maybe we shouldn’t play I’m the front yard any more.”

People on Reddit were quick to share their thoughts on the situation, with one person writing: “Toddlers love watching people, animals, and machines. It’s your yard. Let your baby play there. I would go speak to the parents. Her behavior was scary and inappropriate. She needs to apologize.”

Another said: “Even for a 15-year-old, that was an overreaction. She’s old enough to tell you that it’s making her uncomfortable and to ask you to come and get him. Screaming at you was unnecessary, and obviously, your toddler isn’t creepy. Just a teenage overreaction that was probably 85% about something else going on in her life.”
