A 69-year-old mother is making the most heartbreaking confessions related to her ‘special’ son whom she’s been looking after for the past 40 years.

Gillian Relf who hails from Kent in England reportedly told Daily Mail that having a special child can be a really difficult experience and she’s dedicated 40 long years of her life to her son’s constant care and support. But now, after withstanding all the troubles and tribulations, she feels that it would have been so much better for her if she never had him in the first place.

Gillian is believed to have married her childhood lover named Roy. At that time, she was crazy in love and just 19 years of age. By the age of 20, she had her firstborn, a son named Andrew.

The couple claim that they were living the dream family life but that all changed dramatically when the couple chose to welcome their second child.

“At that time, I just had one thing on my mind. And that was related to completing my family. And that was the only reason I fell pregnant again. But little did I know about the huge challenge that lay ahead of me”- she continued.

After just a few months of falling pregnant, there was something wrong with her child and the pregnancy. But doctors kept reassuring the mom that everything was going to be okay and that she was just being super paranoid which is very common during pregnancy.

Today, her son Stephen is 47 but this mother can’t forget the struggles she’s endured after her child was diagnosed with Down’s Syndrome. And that meant he need constant love, care, and support like no other.

“I dedicated my whole life to taking care of him. I know I may sound like the world’s worst mom but truth be told that if I could turn back time, I would go back and abort him”- she added.

 The mother says that during that time, there were no antenatal scans or even blood tests available to detect such abnormalities that are easily available today, and that just made life so much harder for so many parents like herself and her husband.
