Daphne Dunne Used to Meet Prince During Royal Visits And Now Harry and Meghan Will Write to Her Family

Daphne Dunne is the Australian war widow who won Prince Harry’s heart during the royal visits.

She recently died at the age of 99 just days after the Duke of Sussex and Meghan Markle sent her a birthday card. Daphne’s daughter, Michelle Haywood said that her mother was suffering from pneumonia from a very long time and the royal couple has been a support during her difficult times.

Daphne dies at the Sydney Adventist Hospital on Monday just after three days of her birthday. During her difficult time at the hospital, she had her daughter and granddaughter by her side.

Her daughter claims that her mother fought as much as she could but in the end, it got too much and it is sad that I didn’t get more time with her.

When Prince Harry completed his deployment with the Australian Defence Force in 2015 that’s the first time he spotted Daphne Dune. He spotted her wearing a replica of the Victoria Cross on her chest at the Sydney Opera House.

Then they met again during the Invictus Games launch event in 2017. During the second meet, Harry introduced Daphne to his wife Meghan Markle outside the Sydney Opera House.

The news of her death deeply saddened Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just after three days when they sent a birthday card to her. The Duke and Duchess are always there to support Daphne’s family during this sad time according to the royal family’s spokesman.

Daphne came on The Today Show where the reporters read the letter sent by Prince Harry on her Birthday. The birthday card said that my wife and I are sending you warm wishes and love on your 99th birthday.

They also said that they hope Daphne has a fantastic celebration with her friends and family around her. In the end, they wrote best wishes from Harry and Meghan, the Duke and the Duchess of Sussex.

The Australian Prime Minister also paid tribute and condolences to Daphne and her family during their difficult time.

Daphne spent her birthday with her daughter, grandchildren, and nieces. She had fun and a colorful birthday surrounded by love and family. The staff at the hospital also did their best to make her last few days comfortable and beautiful.
