Traveling with kids can be a nightmare and most parents simply hope that fellow passengers would be understanding enough when things don’t go smoothly.
But one mother has been slammed after she jumped ahead of a long queue at an airport while traveling with her baby.
She didn’t think she was taking things too far as another mom as well as staff allowed her to do so. However, her decision to skip to queue left fellow passengers outraged.
Taking to Mumsnet, the woman said she, her husband and their baby were ‘flying for the first time to see family.’
“We had booked priority, lounges and everything we could to relieve a bit of the stress. Priority queue was quite long to check in luggage and we started queuing nicely,” she wrote.
Another mother then told them that they could skip the line which they did as their baby began to stir.
However, it left many people in line furious and they shouted at them, with some saying “there was no such thing as baby class.”
“Every other step in the airport (security, customs, boarding) we were invited nicely by the staff to jump the queue,” she wrote.
The mother now wants to know if she was in the wrong for jumping the queue with a baby.
Fellow Mumsnet users were quick to share their thoughts on the matter, with one person writing: “If invited to by staff, or there’s an announcement that those travelling with babies can go to the front, of course you can. If invited to go in front of someone else, of course you can. Otherwise, of course not. Even if a randomer tells you to.”
Another wrote: “It’s not jumping the queue if the staff invite you to the front. It’s not like you elbowed people out of the way!”
A third added: “If offered by the person in front of you, fine. But only to take their place. I’d be very p****d off if you went to the front of the queue just because you had a baby.”
