Most parents always want the best for their children and they do everything in their power to keep them happy.
But one father has left his daughter furious after he refused to grant her request to have her wedding at his luxury property with 20 spacious rooms and a swimming pool.
Taking to Reddit, the 57-year-old dad explained that he moved to his tropical paradise five years ago and he admitted that he could’ve been a better father.
“I worked away from home so they were raised mostly by their mom,” he said.
His South American property features a pool, a 20-person guest house, and an outdoor dance floor. However, he no longer allows his family to stay there after how they behaved in the past.
He also revealed how his daughter once turned his property into a complete mess and now that he rejected her request to host her wedding there, she was left fuming.
“They all abused my good will,” he went on.
“They would not clean up after themselves, they would pick fruit off my trees and then waste them, they would not listen when I told them not to go in the pool on Mondays because that was cleaning day. And a whole bunch of other things,” the father continued.
His daughter now wants to host her wedding at her father’s tropical pad and expects him to pay for her wedding costs.
“She tells me that her guests will be staying there for a week before the wedding. And that since they are paying for the flights they shouldn’t have to pay for a place to stay as well. Yeah I’m not super happy about that,” he went on.
“So I say that they can pay me to have extra staff on hand to clean up after them and be cook for them or they can have the ceremony, pictures, and reception here and then stay at a hotel.
“I even volunteered to pick up the bill for the hotel. It would cost me more than what I earn from renting out my place but it would be worth it not to deal with the headache of entitled people.”
His daughter was left furious and her mother started calling him an a******. His son also took to social media to say that their dad was a miserable person who doesn’t want to see his family.
People on Reddit were quick share their thoughts on the matter, with one person writing: “Respect goes both ways, and if they can’t respect your property they don’t get the right to it.”
Another wrote: “They’re all acting super entitled to get mad about this. And just incredibly spoiled and rude that they have acted this way at your place before.”
