Two single moms who were left without a partner decided to move in together to save on expenses and share the chores.
24-year-old Samantha Best and 26-year-old Lauren Robinson are single moms from Auckland, New Zealand, who opened up about their decision to move in together along with their children aged 4 and 5.
As the best friends revealed, they are not in a romantic relationship. Still, they came upon the idea to move in together and share the living expenses after they broke up with their respective partners.
Now, the two friends aren’t looking back knowing they save tons of money on food and bills. They also share chores and have more time to themselves thanks to their two children now always having a playmate.
“We’ve got some unpleasant comments but the majority are supportive saying how much of a great idea this is,” Samantha told FEMAIL.
“We do our own thing but will help each other with school picks ups or going to the supermarket and we babysit for each other when someone’s busy.”
The pair revealed that living together has been easy thanks to their strong bond and their shared views on parenting and other major concerns.
The two moms also insisted they haven’t shut themselves off from dating before joking that any new partners will have to move in together with the both of them.
“Everything is new when you’re fresh out of a break up so we’re taking time to work on ourselves and then we’ll eventually get back on the dating scene,” Samantha added.
“You know how they say when you’re not looking, someone will come along.”
The 24-year-old further claimed that the moms wanted to share their story to break stereotypes surrounding single parents and inspire others to follow their suit.
