A mother has shared how people are always stunned when she tells them the age of her big baby boy, who is already wearing clothes that are made for a three-year-old.
31-year-old Alexa Priego from Manhattan, New York, gave birth to healthy Kason 11 months ago but strangers always assume that he is around 3 or 4 because of his size.
The mother-of-three said that her son was born at a normal weight of 7lb 14. But after only two months of breastfeeding, Kason became huge and just kept growing and growing.
“He is the heaviest baby in the whole world,” Alexa shared.
“He’s very tall and very chunky – doctors said he is in the 99th percentile for weight and height.
“When people see him they ask his age, and they are shocked when I say 11 months because they expect him to be older.
“People are so amazed by it – but when my daughter was born, she was exactly the same.
“I guess I just make big babies!”
The mother-of-three said strangers can’t get their heads round Kason’s size. Some people even stop her in the street just to ask his age and they couldn’t believe it when they learn that he is not even 1 yet.
“They expect him to be much older. Their reactions amaze me sometimes – I’m like, ‘is he really that big?!’ I guess I just make big babies!”
Alexa said doctors told her that she overproduces milk which could also contribute to her son’s impressive size.
Despite what others might think, she says Kason is a healthy baby.
“He is the easiest baby to look after – he’s so easygoing and always smiles at people. He crawls and can walk when he holds onto the side of the couch and tries to stand on everything.
“He is a very active boy. He crawls really fast too – he’s very speedy for a big boy!”
