A family quickly went viral for their lockdown adaptation of Les Miserables’ One Day More.
Dad Ben Marsh, a history professor at Canterbury University, posted the video online where it gained more than 4.7 million views!
43-year-old Ben was joined by his wife Danielle, 42, and their three children, 8-year-old Tess, 10-year-old Ella, 12-year-old Thomas, and 13-year-old Alfie.
They have rewritten the lyrics of One Day More to reflect the COVID-19 lockdown. Their brilliant lyrics include lines such as “Our grandparents are miles away, they can’t work Skype! We’re brokenhearted.”
Their viral video was also featured on an episode of This Morning where it was watched by Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.
Holly, who became teary while watching the video, said: “It makes me so emotional!”
Phillip then said: “You cried!”
“There are so many families out there spending time together thinking of things to do,” Holly said. “There’s something magical when a family does that and comes together.”
Dad Ben told the show that the family does not have any musical theater background but their kids sing in bands and play instruments.
Phillip then asked: “How did you decided who did which part?” Ben responded: “Well the problem with that song is that the boys never wanted to do the romantic parts.
“Because we were able to make it about football, or pizza, or school, it suited everyone!”
Danielle added: “It is completely surreal, it has been the craziest 40 hours.”
