Having friends or family members drop by without any warnings can be a heartwarming surprise, but one woman whose mother-in-law keeps on making unannounced visits is no longer happy about the situation.
The woman took to Mumsnet and said that her mother-in-law keeps on going to their house every morning, about 15 minutes before her husband goes to work.
She explained that her in-laws live in the same neighborhood but she is no longer enjoying all the morning visits as she needs time to ‘prepare myself mentally for any extended visits or socializing.’
Even though her husband has asked his mother to text or call first before coming over, the mother-in-law sees no reason to do so.
“I don’t need to ask, I’m your mom!” the mother-in-law told her son.
Sharing one uncomfortable incident, the woman wrote: “We had guests last summer that we hadn’t seen in a while and she just turned up and came round the back and let herself in, and joined us all in the lounge until my husband hinted that she needed to go.
“I just find it so intrusive, rude, and socially inept but it doesn’t seem to be sinking in with her.”
