A man has shared how his wife threatened to leave him if he got another injury after his foot was left broken when his parachute failed.
Rory Allen said that he could’ve died from the incident but he luckily got stuck in a tree where he was found by emergency services.
The 40-year-old has been jumping off skyscrapers and cliffs for years but his favorite activity is now taking a toll on his relationship.
Rory’s wife is getting tired of his dangerous stunts but he insists that jumping off buildings brings an excitement like no other.
“I love it, I do it intermittently – whenever I can fit it in. I’ve probably done 100 – 150 this year,” he said.
“A lot of the time you have to travel to do it, so I’ll go on a vacation specifically to jump somewhere and I’ll do three or four a day.
“Since I started I’ve had years where I hardly jump and years where I jump a lot. I’m an opportunist with it, when I see a jump I’ll take it.”
Rory said that he had many mishaps but explained that every risk is calculated.
“Having kids is a reason to stay alive but there are other reasons, they motivate me to stay as safe as possible,” he said.
The father also said that he stays away from the risky ones now that he has children. There was a time when he broke his ankle and femur and it took him a year to learn to walk again.
“My parents hate it and my wife would prefer it if I didn’t do it,” he said.
