Most people want their loved ones to be with them during their wedding parties.
But one woman has been branded a ‘bridezilla’ after she revealed that she removed her pregnant sister-in-law from her bridal party just because she’s ‘not comfortable.’
The bride-to-be took to Reddit and explained that her sister-in-law was due to give birth three weeks after the wedding.
“My fiancé and I have been planning a wedding for two years. His sister unexpectedly got pregnant and she told us the due date is three weeks after the wedding,” she wrote.
“While she said she is having a healthy pregnancy and would be fine to participate in the events, I am not comfortable with it and am insisting she just be a spectator.
“The problem with this is she is his only sibling and they have a very close relationship. This decision has caused tension between her and my fiancé.”
The woman also said that the dresses she’s planned for bridesmaids are not available in maternity sizes.
“Another problem is that the bridesmaid’s dresses I selected don’t come in maternity sizes. I’m not trying to be offensive but she seems to be very offended,” she continued.
“I am just wondering why she doesn’t understand this decision wasn’t made to slight her. She’s blowing this whole thing out of proportion and is not refusing to come to my bridal shower. What can I do to make this right?”
People on Reddit were baffled by the woman’s approach, with one writing: “You have absolutely zero rational reasoning for this. Good job on letting a non-issue overshadow your wedding!”
Another wrote: “Pretty sure it is your fiancé’s wedding too right? Stop being a bridezilla.”
A third added: “You know what will happen if you win this argument? Every time anyone looks at photos of your wedding party, all they will notice is that your fiancé’s sister isn’t in them. No one will ever comment about how wonderfully balanced they are and thank GOD there wasn’t a disgusting pregnant woman in a non-matching dress.”
