A woman has spoken out about her ex-husband’s new girlfriend and revealed how the two became best friends.
Mary McDaniel and Nathan Drumm from Indiana parted ways in 2019 but decided to remain friends for the sake of their son even after their marriage crumbled.
Proving she’s on good terms with her ex, Mary not only introduced him to his new girlfriend but also became best friends with the lady that stole his heart.
As the mother-of-three insists, she and Nathan co-parent 3-year-old Silas and have no problem being in the same room despite everything that went down in the past.
She also decided to introduce the man to her former school friend Shayla to help him get another chance at his love life.
While Mary also moved on by marrying Josh in 2020, the pair separated in 2022. They, too, remain good friends and continue co-parenting their two children including Story, 1, and Jovie, 2.
Nowadays, Mary, Nathan, Josh, and Shayla all remain good friends despite their complicated history.
As Mary revealed, she is so close with her ex-husband’s new girlfriend that she even advises her on what lingerie to buy and wear.
“Mary and I talk about pretty much everything. There is nothing off-limits. We grew up together and got together young, so we’ve known each other practically our whole lives,” Nathan explained.
“It’s great that we can all get along and be friends. We talk about everything. The other day Shayla showed me this lingerie outfit she was thinking of wearing for when Nathan and I was like, ‘Yes wear that,’” Mary added.
While Mary admitted that lots of people don’t think their current setup is normal, she insisted it works for them and helps them stay friends while ensuring their children always have support.
“Nathan will come over and stay the night on Christmas Eve, so Silas has us both when he wakes up on Christmas Day. We’re not sure what we will do this year, we might go over to Shayla’s but we haven’t decided,” she elaborated.
She also praised her ex-husband’s new girlfriend and said she’s been great with their child ever since she joined the family.
“We knew each other from school and Nathan saw her and thought she was cute. So, I set them up. Shayla and I are great friends too and go for dinners or she comes round to help with the kids. She’s such a support,” she said.
