A woman recalled the time she delivered her baby on a bathroom toilet while she was on her work trip.
Victoya Venise is a social media manager and graphic designer from Louisiana who delivered her baby on a hotel toilet after mistaking her pregnancy symptoms for the need to poop.
The surprise delivery took place on April 1 when Venise was staying at a hotel in Georgia as part of her business trip.
After she started experiencing discomfort in her stomach, the mother simply thought she needed to go to the bathroom. As she added, she dismissed her labor symptoms thinking she had a stomach bug just like her daughter did at the time.
“I had just come back from urgent care with my daughter. And she had a stomach bug. By the time I realized it was a baby and not poop, it was just too late,” Venise told WXIA-TV.
“I turned around, and it was the baby, and I was like [gasp]. I hurried up, and I grabbed him out of the toilet,” she added in an interview with FOX 5 Atlanta.
“I found a towel and I wrapped him up. I was sitting on the toilet and I called my mom. I was like mom, I just had the baby. I was like he fell in the toilet. She was like, ‘Call 911, call 911.’”
Following her successful delivery, Venise was taken to the hospital for observation together with baby Rocky.
While Venise admitted she was initially planning on putting her baby boy up for adoption, she completely changed her mind and decided to keep her child after sharing the shocking yet incredible experience with her son.
“I feel like the experience made me connected to him and made me want to keep him. So I’m going to keep him. It gave me more courage and made me believe I can do this. If I can do that, I must be able to do a lot,” the proud mother concluded.
