Kelly Healey is being crowned as the United Kingdom’s youngest granny and it’s all thanks to her 14-year-old daughter.
Kelly who is a mother of 5 and hails from West London mentioned how she was shocked to be given the bizarre title when she was just 30 years old, while her daughter Skye was only 14.
The mother of five claims she found out about Skye’s pregnancy when she was already 36 weeks in and instead of turning against her child, she chose a more peaceful route.
“I didn’t want to do what every other parent would have done. I had to accept it because the damage had already been done. She was 36 weeks in and I knew I had to relax and be the supportive and loving mother at this time”- she continued.
Kelly says that showing patience during this difficult time was not only hard but impossible. It was definitely not something she saw coming anytime soon but again, life had to go on.
“I happily accepted my new role as the granny when my daughter gave birth to her son. She named him Bailey”- the mother of four continued.
Kelly was seen speaking during a recent interview with The Sun about how the entire experience changed her world around.
“I never knew I would be a gran while I was still in my late 20’s”- she explained. “But there was no point yelling, what had to be done, was done”- she added.
Today, the mother of five says her friends find it hilarious that she’s a gran while her actions are similar to a woman in her early 20s. But again, it’s life and she’s accepted it with open arms.
It’s not uncommon for Kelly’s grandson to be mistaken as her own child and she’s ok with that. With five children of her own and her grandson too, it definitely appears like this mom’s hands are going to be full.
