Watch this Famous Celebrity do Something Sweet for Someone on the Subway

Little Things

Random acts of kindness have become a movement lately.

Especially with social media that sees and captures all, these small moments of thoughtfulness have become more and more popular.

Unbelievably, there’s even a non-profit organization whose mission is to give people ideas on how to do these selfless acts. Their motto is that “Kindness starts with one.” Unsurprisingly, it’s called Random Acts of Kindness (RAK).

“We are here to provide tools to make it fun and easy to spread kindness while creating a ginormous impact” states the agency on their website.

Movements like these empower regular people to do extraordinary things for others. Instead of feeling like individuals don’t have the ability to make a huge impression, organizations like RAK remind us that we do in fact have the power to brighten someone else’s day.

And even better, a recent YouTube video shows us that regular people are not the ONLY ones who do extraordinary things for others.

The video shows famous actor Keanu Reeves stand up on the train and offer his seat to a woman with a large bag. He does it without much comment and with no expectations attached.

Many people believe that celebrities are self-involved and only do kind things for others when the cameras are rolling, but this video proves otherwise. Reeves gives no indication that he even knows he is being watched.

This video is also telling because it takes place on the subway in New York City, a place well known for its detached demeanor. While celebrity sightings are common here, no one expects them to behave with the compassion that Reeves does in this video.

One commenter wrote, “I mean look at this Guy! A million dollar worth actor, no fancy clothes, no bodyguards, using a subway like a normal Human, looking out for people who need a seat, kinda makes you wish that all Humans would be like him.”

“I wanna see Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise do this. Keanu deserves some respect.,” wrote another.

Feel however you want to about Reeves’ acting career—this video shows that if he decided he no longer wants to act, he probably has a back-up career in humanitarianism!
