A crazed man was caught on camera drop-kicking Arnold Schwarzenegger as The Terminator actor was taking a selfie on Snapchat surrounded by his fans and bodyguards.
In shocking footage taken at a gymnasium during Arnold Sports Festival in South Africa, the 71-year-old was drop-kicked by a maniac who appeared to be shouting: “Help me, I need a Lamborghini!”
After the assault, unfazed Schwarzenegger reached out to his worried fans on Twitter where he wrote:
“Thanks for your concerns, but there is nothing to worry about. I thought I was just jostled by the crowd, which happens a lot. I only realized I was kicked when I saw the video like all of you. I’m just glad the idiot didn’t interrupt my Snapchat.”
Moments before the bizarre assault, the culprit was seen approaching the actor and waving. A bodyguard, however, immediately removed him from the scene.
From there, the former governor of California continued to comment on the achievements of jump ropers while the maniac was preparing an assault.
The attacker is then seen running towards the actor before jumping into the air and drop-kicking him.
After the kick, which sent Schwarzenegger flying forward, the culprit was immediately apprehended by the star’s security team who tackled him to the ground.
Following the assault, the actor confirmed that he wasn’t injured by the kick and that he doesn’t plan on laying charges.
The Festival organizers also spoke out and released the following statement:
“Mr. Schwarzenegger is fine and still in good spirits. He still carried on with the activities as planned and is fully taking this in his stride. He even joked that some people clearly got more excited than others.”
