A farmer has turned a bunch of regular bear visitors into honey tasters after the wild beasts kept on breaking into his bee farm to steal honey.
Following several intrusions, beekeeper Ibrahim Sedef decided to stop the break-ins by giving the hungry bears a job as honey tasters.
As these animals know better than most humans about what makes honey good, Ibrahim decided to set up a table with different sorts of honey on it to see which ones his bear visitors like the most.
After multiple tests in which he switched the order of different honey types, Ibrahim was happy to announce the winner chosen by hungry bears.
According to the Turkey-based beekeeper, his tasters have quite an expensive taste, as they seemed to have always picked the expensive Anzer honey that costs $150 per pound before the rest.
On top of having his honey tested by ‘professionals,’ the man also managed to reduce the damage done to the beehives and the rest of the property by diverting the bears’ attention to the honey table.
Needless to say, people were very amused by the man’s idea after he shared the footage of his tasters on the internet.
“I’m an agricultural engineer, this kind of post always makes me smile, usually people underestimate our profession,” one person wrote.
“He should add “Tested by bear” or “Approved by bear” on labels :D Also, I’m impressed by the little bears’ climbing skills at the end of the video,” another commenter suggested.
The third person joked: “Sometimes I wonder if there is more to life than just eating honey and stealing picnic baskets.”
