Father Died Of Coronavirus – His Daughter Said She Lost Her Best Friend And The Way He Died Hurts The Most


A 33-year-old daughter, Ashley Cooper has left heartbroken after her father died of coronavirus and she can’t even hold his funeral.

73-year-old Phillip Cooper became ill around Thanksgiving and he was taken to a hospital when his health deteriorated.

He was told he had a bacterial infection and pneumonia and spent almost 10 days in the hospital before returning home.

Phillip still had a dry cough which made the family think he had coronavirus. On March 27, he went for a test.

Phillip, who was healthy before contracting the deadly virus, was struggling to walk on his way to the hospital.

On March 30, he was tested positive for coronavirus but Ashley was told by the doctors that her father would return home soon.

However, his health deteriorated after his coronavirus diagnosis and he was transferred to the ICU.

On April 2, Phillip passed away just days after Ashley was told he’s in a stable condition.

His death has left the family devastated who can’t even hold his funeral to get closure.

His daughter Ashley said: “What the hell am I gonna do without his words and his love as a father? I feel vulnerable and unprotected, and I’m 33, almost 34, and that might sound crazy, but that’s how I feel.”

“The thing that hurts the most is how he died. It’s a horrible way to die… and I was not prepared for this.”

Ashley said her father was her best friend who really believed in her and encouraged her to do the things she wanted to do.

She said: “There’s no closure this way. It’s like he was plucked out of my life, and it feels like it could’ve been prevented.”

Ashley is planning to have a memorial service for her beloved father after the coronavirus ends near Lake Michigan where her father lived.

She said so many people loved and adored him and it would be a great tribute to him. But, she is forced to wait and cope with her loss until the lockdown ends.

Ashley said: “My dad showed up for everything – everyone’s event, everyone’s party. He would always go to people’s houses … and didn’t want to show up empty-handed.”

She described him as a ‘great father’ who believed in her dreams and helped her to make her dreams come true.
