A father has run off with his teenage son’s ex-girlfriend after the couple became parents of a boy.
37-year-old Nicola Adams, from Birmingham, told that she and her husband Trevor welcomed their son Shaun’s then-girlfriend Clare when he brought her home to live with them.
Nicola and Trevor were present when Shaun and Clare welcomed their first child Jayden when Shaun was just 16.
Nicola and Trevor got married after Nicola became pregnant at 16.
The couple welcomed their first child Shaun and then went to have 3 more children.
Nicola said: “I had the happy, bustling family I had always dreamed of, but there was one thing we still needed to do. And when we then finally wed in 2015 it was the happiest day of my life.”
The couple’s teenage son Shaun then brought his girlfriend Clare home to live with them.
Nicola said: “I knew she’d had a troubled past but she was the first girl he’d brought home and I was proud and welcoming.
Trevor had barely uttered a word to Clare when Shaun brought her home to live with us.”
“I was happy for them, until Shaun announced he and Clare were having a baby.
‘You’re too young to be a dad,’ I warned him, but they were determined to make it work.
But I was touched when Clare asked me to be there at the birth.”
“I loved babies and when little Jayden was born in May 2015, he quickly became the apple of his granny’s eye.”
However, when Nicola found out that her husband is dating his son’s girlfriend and got her pregnant, she was left shocked.
She said: “I relished my new role, but I could tell Trevor wasn’t happy.
We were arguing constantly. Eventually, when Jayden was 18 months old, Trevor and I separated.
It was heartbreaking, but Shaun and Clare’s relationship was on the rocks too, and I had to put my grandson first.”
When a neighbor showed her a picture of Trevor and Clare together, she was left shocked.
She also noticed that Clare was pregnant.
She said: “My mind raced and I began to think the unthinkable.
Trevor couldn’t have left me for our teen son’s girlfriend…could he?”
She then confronted her husband.
“He mumbled a lie about staying at Clare’s as she was receiving his benefits. It was pathetic”, she said.
