There are many topics out there that people try their best not to discuss because they make us feel uncomfortable or we do not want to believe such evil exists.
One such thing is human sex trafficking, which is a very real problem.
But someone has to talk about it, step up and address the issue. That person is Tim Ballard.
Ballard seems like an average guy. A loyal husband and loving father of nine children of his own, he was a former agent of the Department of Homeland Security. He has since dedicated his life to saving kids from sex trafficking.
That’s why he founded Operation Underground Railroad, a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing kids from sex trafficking.
As a father, his work was traumatizing but he knew that he had to do something about the issue.point 187 | In an interview, Ballard said: “I learned how to basically just be horrible things.point 259 |
I learned how to act like a pedophile or talk like a trafficker or a purveyor of child sex tourism- whatever I needed to do.point 100 | Then I started to infiltrate different organizations in horrible places in Mexico and Columbia.point 182 | ”point 185 | 1
Ballard stayed in his position until he realized he could help more children by starting his own operation.
His wife also encouraged him to pursue what he wanted. “My wife is my hero,” he expressed. “Katherine said ‘You made a promise, and they were good promises. These are real kids. We’re just going to trust in God. We’re just going to quit.’”
Operation Underground Railroad has rescued over 1,680 children and arrested over 880 traffickers. Ballard’s story will soon become a movie as the more people see and become aware, the more they want to help.
You are indeed a hero, Mr. Ballard! Thank you for saving children!
