A father of 2 from Georgia is talking about his personal battler with coronavirus as his wife, who has been diagnosed with the Covid-19 continues to battle against her death in the hospital.
According to a Facebook post shared on March 13, Kyle Abernathy said his wife, April, and he was shocked to learn that pneumonia and flu they were diagnosed with were really serious cases of coronavirus.
Kyle wrote that the couple never traveled. He works as Cave Spring Elementary School’s principal. He shares two children with April, six-year-old son Corban and eight-year-old daughter Amelia.
He added that to them, coronavirus was not an option as they washed their hands. He emphasized that he ordered all the three at his home to wash their hands.
Kyle said that following their initial diagnoses, he and his wife were admitted to Rome’s Kindred Hospital. He, however, noted that the condition of his wife was a lot worse than him.
He added that although his wife is critical, she is stable and needs sedation and ventilation. April’s body needs strength and he further added that April is his bride and he misses her. He said that he wants to be able to meet her when she is better.
Kyle continued and revealed that he was on oxygen throughout the time and has a hard time breathing sans it and gets very winded moving around.
So, he basically just lays down all day to avoid his coughing fits and breathing problems. He expressed that he is on lots of medicines and fluids.
His wife was shifted to another hospital but before that, Kyle got to spend time with her. He asked her to remain strong and win the battle.
