As 30-year-old baker Keith Edwards admitted, he believes that “being normal is a disease,” as he’s never felt better than after following his own path and spending over $10,000 on getting inked.
“The most uncomfortable thing was holding the eyelids open but the most painful part of my body was getting the tattoo on my skull – it was ridiculously, excruciating,” the man said, speaking of his tattoos in unusual places.
In addition, he claimed that the first tattoo he got was a picture of Jesus Christ when he was 17 years old because he comes from a very religious family.
“My mom lost her mind over it, she said no more tattoos,” Keith explained. “They are against the tattoos and I wish it wasn’t that way, I wish they were more caring and more supportive.”
As for the baker’s mission, he wants people to understand that men and women with tattoos don’t necessarily have to be inmates, rappers, or drug dealers as the stereotypes suggest.
“The most common misconception that people have towards me is that they automatically assume that I’m a drug dealer or came from prison, or I’m a rapper,” he added.
“I’m a baker, and a father to three kids, and have a beautiful wife.”
According to Keith, he thinks that “people are conditioned and rubbed and polished to believe a certain way, and to live a normal life which is get up go to work, the corporate life – that’s not the way to me.”
As for his final piece of advice, he said:
“Get to know me before you judge, I’m a nice guy so just come up to me and I’ll be more than happy to educate you on a sense of self.”
