Jesse James Bullard was only 23-months old when his father accidentally drove over him as he was pulling the car out of the driveway.
After it has been reported that the father was high on drugs when driving, the father has been charged with vehicular homicide.
Isaac Bullard, the father of Jesse James, has been charged for homicide, driving under the influence of drugs, child abuse and more charges. More drug related charges were added when it became known that Bullard had been growing nearly 80 marijuanas on his property.
It has since been reported that Bullard also faces charges for attempting to illegally distribute weed of 50 pounds or more. This means that the prosecution likely secured evidence that shows that the father had reserved transactions for the marijuana he was growing.
The tragic moment of Jesse James’ accident occurred just around 11am at the family’s house in Canon City, Colorado. According to those who have seen the footage, which was captured on the neighbor’s security cameras, the father drives over his young son as he was leaving.
According to the local news sources, the distraught father admitted to both charges. In an interview with a local TV station, Tamlin Bullard – mother of Jesse James and Isaac’s wife – remarked that Isaac once again put marijuana over his own family.
Although the exact backstories and history of the family has not yet been reported, Tamlin said Isaac threw away his marriage and family to pursue his dream. It is implied that this dream was related to marijuana in some way. She seemed angered as how that pursuit cost them their child.
Mourning her bereaved son, Tamlin relayed to reporters about how amazing her son was in life. Saying that Jesse had a way into everyone’s hearts with his smiles and attitude towards life, the mother said she hoped their son would change Isaac but lamented that it did not in the end.
Although their son has been laid to rest, Tamlin said she will do everything within her might to make sure that Jesse’s story lives on. She is likely to participate in various events that will focus on deterring parents from smoking weed or doing drugs.
