As stated by the WHO, elderly people fall into the category of high-risk people.
Thus, elderly people are strictly advised to stay indoors to ensure their best to stay safe from coronavirus.
To ensure the safety of the elderly in their community and around the city, a group of women who are in love with rowing in Venice is using their love in the right place.
This group of women who love rowing has taken the responsibility of providing groceries to the elderly of the community. With this, they are working in order to put the city up and out from the situation of the crisis of coronavirus pandemic.
The group of these women called Row Venice row in their gondolas. Their aim is to help out the elderly and all those people who are unable to go out and buy groceries for themselves.
The group has been getting special attention as they can be spotted around the city with their gondolas filled with baskets of food and groceries. They always have their masks and gloves on.
They also bring fresh produce straight from the farms if one needs it.
They get their orders through their app where people can order and pay for whatever they need. Then the group gets on to their work and rows around the waters to deliver.
The group is entirely built with women. There are 15 women who are working every single day to save their traditions and to help the people of their community.
The venture started as a lockdown was announced in Italy on the 9th of March amid the outbreak.
The women saw the need for groceries in the market and decided to help the ones they can. So, they took their gondolas out and used them in the right place by living the days of crisis doing what they love the most.
