A female student at Cornell University, a prestigious university in the United States, is attracting attention as she threw her clothes off during her presentation.
On May 5 (local time), Letitia Chai was in her underwear during her presentation, and the scene was filmed and spread all over the world.
On May 2, during the lecture, Letitia was scolded for her pants being too short by the assistant professor Rebekah Maggor.
At the time, Letitia was wearing short blue shorts with a light blue shirt. Letitia said, “The professor suddenly asked if I was really going to wear that outfit.” The short pants can attract men’s attention and make them more interested in the outfit than the presentation. “I was so surprised that I did not know what to say.”
A male student who agreed with Maggor said, “The presenter must obey moral obligation,” and the embarrassed Letitia left the classroom without finishing her presentation.
A student who was in the class at the time said, “After Letitia left the classroom, the students in the classroom argued whether everyone has the right to express themselves freely in their own clothes, and there is no problem with Letitia’s clothing or you have to wear more formal clothing during presentation.”
Letitia showed up wearing the same clothes she was scolded for at the day of her presentation, and the presentation was streamed live on Facebook.
After giving her regards to her parents Letitia said, “How long does one have to endure the ridiculous view of changing your appearance to satisfy others?” “I received a lot of messages during these couple of days sharing their experiences. I am a woman and I am Letitia but before all of this I am a human being.”
Also she said, “All of us as human beings let’s look at each other freely, let’s all strip everybody,” and 28 of the 44 students in the classroom took off their clothes along with Letitia.
“It’s just a small start, and we have a lot of things to talk about, but I believe we can all do well,” Letitia said.
As Letitia’s protest rallied, Professor Maggor said, “I do not force students to wear certain clothes, but just tell them to wear clothes that can best express themselves.”
