Christmas preparations are in full swing and nothing announces the holidays like a bright display of Christmas lights would.
And if it’s Christmas lights you’re looking for, you need to look no further than Cornwall which hosts the UK’s longest festive tunnel of lights that opened on December 7.

At the end of the colorful tunnel, Santa Claus will be waiting ensconced in his underground grotto at Charlestown’s Shipwreck Treasure Museum.
A spokesman said: “Children and their families will be able to explore the enchantingly lit tunnels before being greeted by Alabaster Snowball, a very important elf indeed.
“This employee of Santa’s North Pole workshop is entrusted with the administration of the naughty or nice list. You’ll be sure to be nice to this elf on your visit to the Shipwreck Treasure Museum this December.
“Once elves have guided visitors through the glowing passageways, each child will have the chance to meet Santa Claus in his underground grotto.”
But there’s more to see than just Santa and bright Christmas lights. Visitors will also have the chance to more fully explore the Shipwreck Museum which houses a wealth of treasures from around the world with more than 8,000 artifacts on display.
If you missed the Santa Experience which took place on December 7 and 8, you’ll get your chance to meet him again daily from December 14 to December 23 between 11 am to 6:30 pm.
This is definitely a unique way to spice up your Christmas experience and in a way, it’s a healthier method to celebrate the holidays since you’ll be walking along the tunnel. And since this will be happening at night, you will be less tempted to be out eating too much at those Christmas parties which are also often held at night.
Be sure to also take your kids so that they can immerse themselves in a fantastic experience while at the same time educating them more about the world through the Shipwreck Museum.
