A wedding ring is very special, and when it comes to choosing a ring we want a special one.
A bride-to-be has revealed her fiancé was so upset with her for choosing a simple wedding ring because that makes him ‘look cheap.’
Olga Vilkova, who is originally from Russia but lives in North Carolina in the US, shared a photo of her wedding ring on Facebook group That’s It, I’m Ring Shaming and penned:
‘Lol my wedding ring came in yesterday and I picked it out myself and now my fiancé is mad at me because he thinks it makes him look cheap. Rip me a new one because my wedding is in two weeks.’
Many came out to comment and they say that they too were criticized by the size of the ring.
One user said, ‘That looks like it’ll break like one of those tiny rubber bands for hair.’
Second commented: ‘I too used to bend paperclips into rings when I was 10.’
A third added: ‘As long as the engagement ring cost at least $10K (£7, 748), that should make up for the wedding band being invisible!’ while a fourth joked: ‘Wow calm down, those diamonds are too flashy.’
How the ring looked, it features a plain simple silver band with five tiny diamonds but is void of any other detail. The funny part is it was compared to everything from electrical wire and glass to a bent paperclip.
‘Another electrical wire ring and glass they keep getting better,’ joked one, while a second wrote: ‘Beyond sad when a paper clip doesn’t get used for its true purpose.’
A third added: ‘I bet you sorted by “cheapest,”‘ while another penned: ‘This is so sad. I want to start a GoFundMe.’
A further joked: ‘Get your a*** to a Black Friday sale at ANY jewelry store and fix your mess! Hopefully, your fiancé will show up.’
Others joked the ring was so tiny they struggled to even see it on the bride-to-be’s finger.
‘Where’s the ring?’ asked one, while another questioned: ‘I’m sorry, what ring? I don’t see anything.’
Another pointed out: ‘Is there any way you could make that smaller?’
And many were in agreement that Olga’s partner had every reason to be annoyed with her choice.
‘He’s right!…it does!’ commented one, while a second added: ‘He’s not wrong though.’
A third simply wrote: ‘Ok, but did he lie?’ while a further penned: ‘I like how dainty and fine it is. It’s a sweet casual ring to wear on another finger.’
‘However, as a wedding band, this is a charade. No one will think you’re married. The groom should be concerned.’
Another added: ‘Not at all appropriate for a wedding ring. Your poor fiancé!’
