Firefighter Said Environmental Activists Are Responsible For Deadly Bushfires

A hardworking firefighter has spoken out and accused environmental activists of being directly responsible for deadly bushfires that have taken over Queensland and NSW in Australia.

As volunteer Tyson Smith explained in his post, eco-warriors’ successful attempts at stopping controlled reduction burns are causing major fuel overloading that contributes to the spread of wildfires.

“These authorities that put a stop to reduction burns need to be held personally accountable for the losses people have endured,” Tyson said in his Facebook post.

“People have lost their lives as a direct result of the decisions made by the environmental authorities! Please tell me why these ‘enviros’ shouldn’t be stood up in front of a judge and charged with manslaughter?

“How many more homes? How many more acres of destroyed forest and bushland? How many more lives? How much more do we need to endure until you Muppets realize you f**ked up?”

As the upset firefighter who’s been fighting the bushfires added, reduction burns helped keep fuel sources at a stable level.

“The fuel loading we are seeing out on the ground is ridiculous. We are looking at 5-10 years of growth, this fuel source is making these fires untouchable, we can’t even get near them to fight them,” he added.

“The controlled reduction burns we do only skim the surface, they safely remove the fuel without destroying the place.”

Explaining how reduction burns work in his piece for The Conversation, Professor David Bowman wrote that “the idea is to reduce the intensity of subsequent fires at the same place by removing fine surface fuels such as leaf litter. Reducing these hazards increases the window of opportunity for firefighters to control bushfires.”

As the professor of the University of Tasmania added, this process differs from back burning, a wildfire control method that is used as a last resort.

“Back burning is a last-resort measure to stop wildfire from burning out specific areas. It works by setting fires from containment lines, such as established fire breaks or hastily contrasted ones made with a bulldozer or cut by hand,” he added.
