A firefighter was left heartbroken when he was called after a car crash and recognized the teenage victim was his niece.
Nathan Williams found the 18-year-old passenger had died when the car flipped onto its roof after hitting the wall in Monk Bretton, near Barnsley.
He rushed to the Barnsley after 5 am – when the Renault Clio car went out of control and hit a wall. Teenage mom Jordan died at the moment.
Jordan’s gran, Lesley Hallworth, 57, said: “He didn’t recognize Jordan at the time and it took a good few minutes before he realized who it was.
“He immediately rang his brother Scott and they rushed to the scene. He was in major shock.
“We got the call and it just floored us. We had Riley [Jordan’s son] with us and it is very very hard to deal with.
“He has no idea what has happened thank god. He is an angel and an absolute dream to look after.
“That’s a credit to Jordan who was a brilliant mom.”
Jordan lived in a Barnsley flat with her son. She permanently settled there after living her early life in Cyprus, Germany, and Edinburgh.
She was a bridesmaid at her mother Kat’s wedding who got married to his step-dad Scott last month.
Kat, 39, said she was “absolutely hilarious”.
She said: “She was very, very open and had no filter. Jordan was stunning and she loved her little boy.”
Scott, also 39, was close to Jordan and he fondly described her as “an absolute nutter”, adding: “She did love life and she lived it.”
Lesley has made a fundraising page for Jordan’s son, and said the response has been “absolutely overwhelming”.
Jordan leaves behind three siblings – Katie, 16, Liam, 11 and Maddison, five.
Her dad, Ryan Zuppinger, was in the Army and now lives in Kent.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “The passenger of the Clio, an 18-year-old woman, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
“Her family are being supported by specially trained officers.
“The Clio was believed to have been traveling behind a white Citroen C1.”
They requested witnesses to help in the investigation.
