Virginia Firefighters Save An American Flag As A Building Catches Fire

The Moose Lodge in Hopewell, Virginia caught fire on February 28 and Hopewell Fire & Rescue quickly arrived for the rescue.

While they were rescuing, Virginia firefighters did something which touched everyone’s heart.

The group of Virginia firefighters saved an American flag before it caught fire.

“It was gut-wrenching and then it was sad because there’s a lot of memories and a lot of ties to the community,” lodge administrator Brad Ozmore said.

The group of Virginia firefighters couldn’t save the lodge from being destroyed but they managed to save the American flag.

The video of firefighters saving the American flag went viral online. Donny Hunter, the Hopewell Fire Chief, shared with Fox & Friends:

“We took the opportunity to go up and save the flag as kind of a symbol of hope,”

“We don’t usually lose a whole building. I mean, we pride ourselves in being very aggressive and fighting fire hard”, Hunter told WTVR.
